Abandoned toys(portion)-Autumn Stoddard-
"Mistreated creatures,of porcelain, cloth, and soft plush ripped and tattered. Some have marks and bruises cuts and wears, from so much love or unneeded abuse. Those colorful tea sets begged and pleaded for so long ago, are dusty cracked and chipped. But we the children of long ago, will never know, were the abandoned toys go, once they are left out in the dust, plush animals and dolls smelling of must, or the old toy cars gathering rust. We will never know."

He loves her, he has always been her talisman, protecting her since day one. Their love sure was a miracle.
“Love is the vital essence that pervades and permeates, from the center to the circumference, the graduating circles of all thought and action. Love is the talisman of human weal and woe--the open sesame to every soul.” Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Water color and black marker( pointillism.)
When I saw the topic of the week the first thing that came to my head was a dog sticking its head out of a car window. Also, I found this interesting answer to why?
"Why dont dogs like their faces blown on but they stick their head out the car window?
-"Because when you're a dog and you stick your head out the window you can smell thousands of different scents but when you blow in a dogs face its just a quick puff. "
No wonder why my dog goes Ooh LA la... thousands of smells... lovely!- Enjoy it..

In the Time of the Butterflies is a novel by Julia Alvarez, fictionalizing the lives of the Mirabal sisters from their personal accounts of what happened during the time. It recounts the rebellion against Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, the dictator of the Dominican Republic. The butterfly became their symbol, which represents independence - their main goal against Trujillo's dictatorship.
In a time where people were afraid to even say "Rafael Trujillo" four sisters were brave enough to join the resistance and fight against him until the end.
On December 17, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 25 (the anniversary of the day of the murder of the Mirabal sisters) as the annual date for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in commemoration of the sisters.

Nobody ever imagined that the ordinary Purple calla lily would contained such thing. It contained life, beauty, the innocence of a newborn.

I want to be heard:
The basenji dog does not bark and is therefore known as the "voiceless dog." When happy, the basenji will make a sound described as something between a chortle and a yodel. It also snarls and growls on occasion.
Even when we are considered voiceless, we should stand up and let our voices be heard. Our voices should be our instrument of power against a world full of prejudice and ignorance. We need to be heard.

-Choices-
"As a young man my life is so full of choices. Choices about what to wear, where to go, what to do, why, who, what, and when. Choices about everything. It’s like a world of keys for just one door. Keys in this piece represent those choices. To open doors, doors of understanding, doors of knowledge, doors of a world full of beautiful colors and texture to work with."

Pienza principal de la exhibición primaveral en el MFA de Boston del 2003. Enfocada en las conneciones entre lo natural con lo industrial. Parte de mi coleccion "Set of Nature" -Set of Nature
The beauty of greens and even the smell of natural elements can be perceived in these significant pieces that I have done. When I talk about them as significant I go beyond what the assignment was. Beyond the enlarging of small still lives, beyond looking at them really close to find the different values of them. I’ve given them a sentiment, my thesis, which is solitude. Solitude as the first leaf of spring, solitude as the last leaf of fall.-sitio de enlace: http://boston.k12.ma.us/arts/artsbuzz/artsbuzzjune03.asp
